comment yo!

Firstly, I appreciate the comments everyone gave me in my last post. It just makes the blog so much cooler. So yea keep it rolling people, friends or strangers, vistors ..it doesn’t matter…..…this seemed to work for Kirby so Im gonna try it..heh

“I ___________ read your blog, and would love to comment” (don’t be shy =) and I hope you don’t mind Kirby for me stealing this)

Hmmm….So yea…I was reading this news article on the Screen Actors Guild awards…and Brits like Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons were praising how good Americans were as actors and how much American film actors has influence them

Heres something british actor Jermey Irons said that I thought was quite funny: "In fact I remember the first time I went to New York and I asked the guy on Fifth Avenue the way to Madison Avenue. "He said 'What do I look like, the information bureau?' And I thought everybody in America wants to be a movie star, because they all sound like movie stars."

So true, its like you go into a cafĂ©…and the waitress seems like some character from the sopranos ‘would you like kwoffe or haat tea’ (giggle..)

Anyways heres the link to the article

Come to movie stars, Jlo and me went to this famous deli called Kats deli. Its famous because this was where Meg Ryan did her famous fake orgasm scene in the classic movie When Harry met Sally! There even was a sign showing where she sat. Hm…yea I don’t think I had what she had..…. but we ordered a pastrami sandwich…. wasn’t orgasmic…but still a pretty tasty sandwich.

ma peeps

I've been posting alot of peopleless pics on this blog, so i thought i'd dedicate this post to the people i've travelled miles with and also people i've met so far.

Especially would like to say thanks to stuart, hilary and marie (the "kiwis in brooklyn") for making the ny experience so much fun......trying to move around brooklyn by subway with our massive suitcases would be an insignificant but fond memory you guys haha.....plus marie for your heartfelt renditions of irreplaceble by beyonce.

and most thanks to jlo ma man, whos been the backbone of this whole trip, alot of things wouldn't have been done without you.

was nice seeing puili too!

+kevin, nick, phil, grace, kash, candy.....who probably don't read my blog....haven't met you guys long enough but still many thanks.

Top of the rock

So i've been in new york for 51 days, and only blogged 8 times....what a shame lol. But yea, life is pretty busy here, rush, non-stop. I've realised that in new zealand I would open my window or walk out the balcony and take a deep breath of fresh air...something i'd take for granted....also something that i wouldn't have time to do here...or even think about.

I've resigned from my fundraiser/dialouger job due to illness, and probably thought i should get a indoor job from now on....its getting colder here, just started snowing!

Lastly I had to chance to go up the "top of the rock" observatory at the rockafella centre yesterday. Offers great views of manhattan. A 'pre-highlight' would be going up the elevator....was pretty cool...i got it on video. So yea the view was good! COLD! but good....

Oh...also took a peekaboo at the st patricks catheral on fith ave.

DUMBO

DUMBO is an acronym for "down under the manhattan bridge overpass", a neighbourhood in brooklyn. Me and Jlo decided to go for a walk since there wasn't much going on and even an ill man like me could only handle so much boredom (did i just say boredom in NY!?). Well yea... apparently DUMBO offers 'magnificent' views of manhattan , and so it was.

some sorta UFO....do u see it?

Metropolitan Museum of Art

Hmm what i can say, alot has happened since my last post, and at the same time, not alot has happened... I've been sick the past week which was quite horrible, couldn't work, couldn't breathe with all that goo in my nose...yea it sucked. period.

What didn't sucked tho, was the Metropolitan Museum of art. On one of my "better" days, me and jlo decided to head there for a visit. Also known as "the met", it is one of the most important museums in the world, and certainly was impressive. From the Nan Kempner clothing collection to the asian arts and extensive arts and display, it definetely had a 'wow' factor on me.

As I said, quite a bit has happened...so I'll try to post those events later (xmas, new years..etc)
